Drying Peonies

Peony, in floriography, was given the meaning of shame and bashfulness, but I think their bold and absolutely brilliant.  When I was younger I would put some cuttings in my room, then hang them up to dry so I could enjoy them all year round.  They preserve really well.  It's best to hang them to dry when the blossoms are just pass their prime.  I usually just hang them on a clothes hanger in my closet, where they can keep warm and dry.  They keep their big blossoms and color for years.  The Peony season is over now, but I'm looking forward to enjoying them next year.
